You'd never really lived life until you fail... @ 11:14 PM
Today attended a very motivational course. Seriously, I can't believe i'm saying this, but i really find it useful. OK basically, attended a workshop hosted by 'trybe', a social service kind of organization. First thing, when i see the grouping, kind of dissapointed for some known reason. Got grouped with a bunch of jokers like sam, ah kai, nuovo a.k.a Johny etc. First thing, we went to the first session, which focused on facing your failure and investigating your mistakes. The facilitators gave us a couple of pictures of popular people whom face their failures and became successful. One of the was Michael Jordon. We had to name the persons for the first activity. Initially, for that clinton guy (america's dunno which year de president), nuovo wanted to go write mao ze dong... The beatles became jonas brothers... Got kind of inspired by their success stories.

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games, 26 times. I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed... I've failed over and over again in my life. And that is why i succeed."
-Michael Jordon

According to the instructor, Michael Jordon was rejected from the basketball team when he was in high school. His coach rejected him, saying that he was not tall enough to be in the team. However, he did not give up and tried and tried. Eventually, he became a basketball legend. The beatles also had their failures too. They were insulted by others saying that their music was not good enough, they had internal conflicts within their group. However, they worked as a team and eventually, they became a well known group. Walt Disney was sacked from some company as he was not creative enough. Thomas Edison was removed from class as the teacher thought that he was not good enough to deserve to study. There are many more examples given but I don't really remember. These people face their failures and learn from them, therefore becoming successful, which is pretty motivational. After this session, we had a talk by Mr. Sam Victor, who was an ex. delinquent who got his way to the university. Didn't really listen much to what he said as he was simply describing his childhood and telling us how his wife changed his life etc.

After the break, went for another session which focused on goals for success and try with your best. Nothing much for this as we played some games to understand the importance of goal setting and watched a motivational video on how hard exactly is trying our best. After this session, we had a talk by Mr. Nicholas Lee, a man who accidentally became a university graduate. According to him, he was just floating all the way to the JC and only worked hard when he found out that he was going to retain for his JC's first year. He had many jobs, worked in the HDB, a bank, stock exchange and now leading a social service organization. I find him rather funny but i don't really find him motivational as compared to Michael Jordon that group of people. The session ended off with a skit, which was pretty enjoyable. It was really useful for me (I might be saying this today but i know that i will surely forget all that i've learnt the next day =.='')

Overall, these are the few important things we must know to achieve success.
Face Your Failure
Investigate Your Mistakes
Goals For Success
Happy Thoughts
Try With Your Best

After the workshop, went straight for scouts. Taught the juniors how to build basha tents (which is very simple). Started making banner and completed half of it. Had all my hands covered with paints and the smell of turpentine really ruined my day. Valmond and Aw Siong was like crapping over the banners, making life difficult for LoonRong. E.g that letter not nice, the scouts logo 1 side big 1 side small etc. Really funny. After scouts, went for tuition as usual. Completed a summarise version of Phantom Of The Opera (It was a audiobook kind of thing and we just read from the paper while listening). Gave my Jay Chou poker to KaiJie and he was like so happy though I don't find anything special about the cards. Bought my favourite milk tea and drank it on the bus. Marion said good luck to me for drinking it as it has sugar? LOL? I know that drinking sweet drink is unhealthy but I just cannot resist the temptation of drinking milk tea... Went home, watched fight science on okto and learnt that a katana is so geng. It's the strongest martial arts weapon! Feel like getting 1 though it is impossible.

Video of the day!

Watched this clip once again during the session on try with your best. Really good example on how to work on your 120%, which is indeed trying our very best.

Quote of the day!
"Success isn't something you chase. It is something you have to put forth the effort constantly."
-Michael Jordon
